This month was a very special month, not only does it signify the end of summer for many folks it was also when the Junior Olympics is hosted in our home state down in Houston. With athletes all over the country in attendance it was very special to have so many of the athletes that I train also compete. King, Vic, Ivy, Avery, Ella and Maci all made me very proud working all year long and finally they get a chance to line up with the best that this country has to offer. With so much success and Prs being smashed I'd like to highlight one very special young lady, Maci Simmons. Maci ran the 100 and 300 meter hurdles during her High School season, and for those of you that don't know at Junior Olympics they have the 400m hurdles. With just a handful of opportunities to practice this race Maci took home 1st place in the 400m hurdles with a new PR and reaching her goal time so that she may attempt to walk on to the track team at her new school this fall USC. Congrats Maci you have a bright future ahead of you and I cant wait to see what you accomplish next.
